What are your main influences? What is your design philosophy?
As long as I can remember I have always been very passionate about design. Through my own life experiences, I have found there is a strong connection between design and an individual's overall wellness. More than we may realize, what we surround ourselves with has a huge impact on our day-to-day mood and health. When we are living in a space that makes us feel good and peaceful, people tend to be happier, more relaxed, connected with the world around them, and in many cases more motivated. What influences me most is those around me: family, friends, clients, peers, and of course my mentors. My design philosophy…. dig deep! Everyone has a story unique to them, I find the more you can learn the better you can help them achieve exactly what they want.
What are your favorite brands/materials to work with?
To choose just one brand as a favorite is extremely difficult. We are fortunate to carry so many amazing brands here at Paul Schatz. Although I may not have a favorite quite yet, I have found I appreciate something different from each company. Stickley and Taylor King constantly impress me in the construction of their products, I love Lee Industries and their commitment to sustainability, they have beautiful fabrics too. And last but not least, Charleston Forge is just stunning, the pieces they create are truly one of a kind. Material wise, I am a textiles gal! I love to play with various textures and color combos.
What are your favorite rooms to work on?
The Great Room is by far my favorite room to work on. This is a space for people to gather and come together. It is the space you would want to feel most connected to and should be an expression of who you are.

Paul Schatz is a family! Truly. Being a small brick & mortar, family-owned business that has been around for over 103 years, it gives a sense of community. We have a great team here, not only do we want our clients to enjoy their experience here, but we also want to help them achieve their goals, and we LOVE what we do.
